Toronto Wushu Master Linda Liang Claims Two Golds and One Bronze at the 2026 World Wushu Open Championships
The 2026 World Wushu Open Championships were held on September 5–6, 2026, in Santa Clara, Silicon Valley, California. Linda Liang (Liang Chunxiu), a renowned Toronto-based promoter of Chinese martial arts, competed in traditional routines, Taiji sword, and the highly demanding long-tassel sword. Drawing on decades of solid training and a composed mindset, she delivered performances that beautifully presented the classical elegance of Chinese wushu, winning two gold medals and one bronze among more than 2,000 competitors.
Linda comes from Cangzhou, Hebei — China's famous hometown of martial arts. She began training at age ten and has devoted over forty years to traditional wushu and Taiji systems, while actively promoting Chinese martial arts throughout Toronto's communities.
"Stepping onto the international stage is itself the best testament to decades of love and perseverance. The medals are a bonus — what is more precious is bringing authentic traditional Chinese martial arts to the world." — Linda Liang
